Mechanical Centrifuge
A mechanical centrifuge can be used to obtain virgin coconut oil, which is considered to be one of the purest forms. During this process, coconut meat is emptied into a machine which chops the meat into tiny pieces. These little pieces are placed into a light screw press and the milk is extracted from the meat; then, the remaining coconut is placed in a high speed mechanical centrifuge which rapidly spins the coconut.
Through the spinning process, the oil is separated from the meat and collected. Mechanical centrifuge
coconut oil retains a strong coconut taste and smell and requires no refining processes.
Centrifugal process
As the name suggest the key aspect of the whole method is centrifuge.
A centrifuge is a an equipment driven by electricity which rotates around a fixed axis.
You must have seen a washing machine dryer, it works on the same principle - drum
acts as centrifuge and water is literally forced out due to the fast spinning.
How does this work in case of coconut oil?
In case of coconut oil extraction using centrifugal method the first step is to produce coconut milk using fresh mature coconut meat. Coconut milk actually is a natural oil in water emulsion.An emulsion consists of two immiscible liquids, where one is dispersed as very fine droplets into another. When kept for sometime this unstable emulsion starts separating but takes too much time, this is where centrifugal process helps.With the use of centrifugal process the separation speed of oil and water is greatly enhanced without using any chemical process of heat. As centrifuge moves, coconut oils starts moving
towards the its centre and then can be collected. This separates coconut oil and water.

The process of extract coconut oil by centrifuge:
1.If the solid content of coconut milk is very less.The coconut milk can directly into the tubular centrifuge (3 phase) or disc centrifuge(3phase).
2.If the solid content of coconut milk not very more.The coconut milk can first into disc centrifuge(2phase),second into the tubular centrifuge(3phase).
3.If the solid content of coconut milk is very more.The coconut milk can first into filter
centrifuge(2phase),second into disc centrifuge(2phase or 3phase),thirdly into the tubular centrifuge(3phase).
