Oil Centrifuge is a continuous process centrifuge machine capable of continuously separating Water and Sludge from any oil.

An Industrial Oil Water Centrifuge uses discs in the bowl to magnify the effective g-force, making them highly efficient at separating small traces of water and sludge from oil or the other way around. These centrifuges are also known as Disc Stack Separators.

With its flow-through design, this centrifuge can continuously separate liquid from liquid and liquids from solids and other liquids.

An oil centrifuge works on the principle of differential settling using a high centrifugal force to separate oil from solid and liquid contaminants. The centrifuge exerts up to 8,000 Gs of force to separate particles as small as 1 micron from the oil. It also separates any immiscible liquid contaminants from the oil.

An oil centrifuge offers several advantages over conventional filters and settling methods of separation. The following is a list of the essential advantages of these centrifugal separators.

Operating principles

Separation takes place inside a rotating bowl. The feed is introduced to the rotating centrifuge bowl from the top via a stationary inlet pipe (1),and is accelerated in the distributor(2),which was specially designed to ensure smooth acceleration of the feed liquid(4). Leaving the distributor, the feed enters the disc stack(3). The separation into liquid-liquid-solid takes place between the discs, with the oil phase moving through the disc stack to the centre. When it reaches the centre, it is discharged through hole (5) and ejected into the collecting frame. The water and heavy solid separated from the oil move to the periphery, and the water flows via channels in the top disc(6) to the paring chamber, where it is pumped out of the rotor by means of a built-in paring disc(7).During purification, hot water is fed into the inlet of the bowl before the process liquid is introduced. The water forms a seal around the outer edge of the top disc. The solid collect in the periphery where they are discharged intermittently via the centrifuge cyclone. The solid are discharged by means of a hydraulic system, which forces the sliding bowl bottom(8)to drop down at preset suitable intervals, thus opening the solid ports at the bowl periphery

How it works
the disc centrifuge separates solids and one or two liquid phases from each other in one single continuous process, using extremely high centrifugal forces. When the denser solids are subjected to such forces, they are forced outwards against the rotating bowl wall, while the less dense liquid phases form concentric inner layers. The area where these two different liquid phases meet is called the interface position. This can be easily varied in order to ensure that the separation takes place with maximum efficiency. Inserting special plates (the "disc stack") provides additional surface settling area, which contributes to speeding up the separation process dramatically. It is the particular configuration, shape and design of these plates that make it possible for a disc stack centrifuge to undertake the continuous separation of a wide range of different solids from either one or two liquids. The concentrated solids phase formed by the particles can be removed continuously, intermittently or manually, depending on centrifuge type and the amount of solids involved in the specific application.
