Disc Stack Separator
The disc stack separator is also called disc separator. It is a device that rapidly separates solid and liquid through high-speed centrifugal force. The alias is also called disc centrifuge or conical plate centrifuge, which belongs to a type of vertical centrifuge. The disc separator is driven by a motor and rotates at high speed. In the bowl of the disc separator, there is a set of disc-shaped parts nested with each other-commonly known as discs. There is a small gap among the discs, which are used for centrifugal sedimentation of materials. The suspension (or emulsion) to be processed enters the bowl of the disc separator through the feed pipe. When the suspension (or emulsion) flows through the gap between the discs, the solid particles (or droplets) settle on the disc under the action of the centrifuge to form a sediment (or liquid layer). The sludge slides along the surface of the disc to separate from the disc and accumulates in the inner bowl where the diameter is large, and the separated liquid is discharged from the bowl through the liquid outlet. For the 3-phase disc separator, there are two centripetal pumps inside, which can discharge the two immiscible liquid phases having difference densities. The role of the discs in the disc separator is to shorten the settling distance of solid particles (or droplets) and expand the effective settling area of the bowl so as to greatly improve the production capacity of the disc separator. The solids accumulated in the bowl can be discharged through the automatic slag discharge mechanism without stopping the machine. By using the disc separator, solid-liquid-liquid 3-phase separation or solid-liquid separation is realized.
All parts contacting with the material are made of high-grade stainless steel, which effectively reduces the chemical interaction between the separated material and the surface of the contacting part. The separated light and heavy phase liquid materials are output by two centripetal pumps of different sizes. This machine adopts upper feeding, which has lower inlet pressure on the material. Hydrodynamic coupling and a pair of helical gears or belt drive are used in the power transmission. The speed increase is stable and overload protection can be performed.
The slag discharge action of the sliding piston is automatically controlled by a PLC fully automatic control cabinet specially designed with safety protection devices. It is high level automation, strong adaptability for process adjustment, and convenient adjustment, low noise and good separation effect. Professionally designed centripetal pump system is with stable output pressure, large adjustment range and easy operation.

Disc centrifuges are generally used for materials that cannot be effectively separated by decanter centrifuges. It has a wide range of applications and technical parameters. It is usually used in solid-liquid separation processes in conjunction with decanter centrifuges.
The separation factor of disc centrifuge is generally 8000 ~ 20000G. It is usually used to process materials that are difficult to effectively separate by conventional centrifuges, such as highly dispersed liquid-liquid two-phase emulsions, slow-settling liquid-solid two-phase suspension with small solid particles, etc. It can separate suspensions with a solid concentration of less than 3%. The technical parameter range of disc centrifuge is relatively large, and the diameter of the drum is generally 150 ~ 1200 mm. The disc centrifugal separator can provide a better result of separation with a clearer centrate, and can be adopted in more areas with its wide range of technical parameters.
The diameter of the bowl in decanter centrifuge is range from 160 mm to 1000 mm, and the separation factor is ranges from 1000G to 4000G, the ratio of length to diameter is from 2 to 5. The horizontal spiral discharge settling centrifuge has the following advantages: a wide range of applications and can meet various requirements of solid-liquid separation. It can complete the separation process of solid-phase dehydration, liquid-phase clarification, liquid-liquid-solid separation &liquid-solid-solid separation with larger particle size. It has a wide range of material adaptability, can separate suspensions with a solid phase particle size of 5 ~ 2000 μm and a solid phase concentration of 0.5% ~ 40.0%. It can operate automatically and continuously, with a large capacity and low operating & maintenance cost.
